Founded by Mark and Andrae van Beers, Smart Building Inspection’s mission is to consistently provide a quality service supported by relevant qualifications and extensive experience that is wrapped up and presented to the client in a comprehensive yet easy to read ‘user friendly’ report.

Having 25 years practical experience as a builder, Mark transitioned into the inspection industry in 2009 after realising that there was a need for independent and qualified inspectors in Queenstown.  Mark prides himself on his comprehensive approach to every inspection he undertakes.

Mark is a Weathertightness Specialist, Licensed Building Practitioner, Certified Infrared Thermographer, Trade Certified Builder and is an Executive Committee Member of the New Zealand Institute of Building Inspectors (NZIBI).  Mark’s extensive experience, qualifications and friendly personality helps any buyer or seller feel well informed at a time that can potentially be stressful.

Andrae Van Beers

Big Boss

Andrae’s background is predominantly within the real estate and property management industries. Having over 15 years experience in Property Management both in Australia and New Zealand, Andrae settled in Queenstown in 2001 and enjoyed the challenge of managing Queenstown’s largest and most successful property management company for a period of six years.

Since this time, Andrae has worked alongside Mark in creating and establishing Smart Building Inspections. Andrae’s role is at the helm and involves overseeing the day to day operations of the business.

Complaints Manager

Millie joined Smart Building Inspections in December 2016 and brings with her a wealth of knowledge from the farming community in Kerikeri.  Millie has proven herself to have the ability of propping up any glum face when the chips are down. Millie’s position is so quiet that she loves spending her days frolicking in the sun and going for walks whilst she waits anxiously for the opportunity to give cuddles.  If you have a complaint, Millie will rise to the occasion and ensure you receive Smart’s prompt attention!
